Youth Business Excellence Awards (YBEX)

YBEX is an annual event created by Community Futures Northwest in 1997. The program is designed to encourage youth to experience and explore entrepreneurship and to consider self-employment as a career option. Since inception, YBEX cash awards have totaled $45,115.00

YBEX participation is open to all regional students in grades 6 to 12. Cash awards presented to 2010 YBEX winners will total $1,800.00. Please see the 2 YBEX category kits for award distribution. The deadline to enter is Wednesday March 31, 2010.

YBEX categories include:

1. BUSINESS PLAN: (Grade 6 - 12)  Students create and develop a new idea for a business.
2. BUSINESS REPORT: (Grade 6 - 12)  Students already “in-business” report on business operations. 

YBEX is an on-line event. Students, Educators and Spectators view the competition over the Internet at the YBEX competition centre on this website. Entries are posted as they arrive at the Community Futures office in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Adjudication results are posted each weekday from April 12 to April 15, 2010. Winners are declared and posted on this website April 20, 2010. Cash awards are hand-delivered to students and participating schools the week of April 26, 2010.
